Task

1. Choose a fairy tale from the stories tab and read the Grimm version as well as a contemporary version
2. Complete a Venn diagram comparing the two (including the roles of women)
3. Focusing especially on the role of female characters, answer the following questions in complete sentences:

• What are some of the differences you noticed between the two versions? Similarities?
• Do you believe there are any negative female stereotypes in either story? If so what are they? Cite specific examples
• Take a moment and think about the Disney movie version of this story. Do you believe women are accurately represented?
• Do you believe the female characters in these stories are positive role models for children? Why or why not?

In addition, I would also like you to create a question and present it to your classmates on the blog. This question should go beyond a "yes" or "no" answer. After posting, you should comment on at least two other student blogs.
